Description

Description

Citrus limonum is a thorny, evergreen tree with irregular branches bearing glistening, oval leaves. It’s the flowers, which are a pinkish white and strongly perfumed, that eventually become the lemon fruit. The word lemon stems from the Arabic, ‘laymun’ and the Persian, ‘limun.’ Under the right conditions, a lemon tree can blossom every month and produce thousands of fruits per year. Today, most of the world’s commercial lemon production is concentrated in Italy, Sicily and California.Lemon juice is a source of vitamin C, vitamins B1 and B2, and niacin, and is a powerful antioxidant. Applied topically, the juice is an exfoliant and can brighten skin.Fresh organic lemon infusion works well to flatten the hair cuticles and can add a lustrous shine to the hair, while also cleansing and degreasing. It’s also refreshing and brightening when used on the skin, and we use it in some of our skin care range.
